About Mark Mason
I'm a Traditional Drawn 2D Animator, Character Designer, Storyboard Artist, Illustrator and Woodblock Printmaker based in Clitheroe, Lancashire (UK).
I've worked as a Key Animator, Directing Animator, Character Designer and Storyboard Artist on a huge number of UK TV Commercials, Children's TV Series and Specials since 1985.
Mark Mason Animation was formed in 1995 to produce layouts and animation for the second series of William's Wish Wellingtons. Prior to that Mark Mason had completed over 10 years in the British animation industry, initially working as a cartoon animator for a Manchester based animation studio specialising in TV commercials and later as a freelance cartoon animator and animation director, working on a variety of commercials, series (The Raggy Dolls, William's Wish Wellingtons and Philbert the Frog) and feature films (All Dogs Go To Heaven).
Lecturing and Workshops
University Centre at Blackburn College 2015 onwards. Part-time lecturer in Animation on the Illustration and Animation Degree course.
University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) 2016 onwards. Part-time lecturer in Animation on the Animation Degree course.
Toon Boom Animation 2017. Delivered 2 day Toon Boom Harmony training at the Belfast School of Art.
